A Hard Decision

Well last week we had to make one of the hardest decisions. J & J's case has taken a turn from the pre-adoptive status to more of a foster care case. The worker insists that she thinks that they will still be available for adoption eventually but that is not what we are looking for :-( Unfortunately Big J's behaviors will only get worse with the continuation of visits and it will be months (possibly years) before he could start healing and bonding with us. We want to find one or possibly two more kiddos to adopt that we can bond with right away and they with us. So last week we were forced to make the decision to have J & J moved to another home in hopes that then we will find our forever kid(s). We asked the worker about splitting the boys as little J is currently available for adoption with out all the drama but we were told that the court (and worker) want to keep the boys as one case so they will have to move together. There is a family here in town that have shown interest to me about the boys but the worker is avoiding my calls at this time so I haven't been able to pass on the other foster parent's information.

We do love these boys and wish them and their new family all the best!

First Days of School

Summer seemed to go by way to fast this year! We didn't fit in ALL the fun things we had planned to do and if you ask Brooke and Lexy we didn't go to the pool NEAR enough!

Brooke started her 7th grade year last Thursday (August 14, 2008), she was excited but very nervous. Mackenzie stayed the night so they could walk to school together the first day. I can't believe how fast she is growing up on me...seems like just yesterday that I was taking her to preschool :-(

Here's Brooke on her first day and Brooke & Mack...

I was already SO stressed out about sending Lexy to her first day of preschool this morning and then the morning had to get worse! The bus came 15 min. earlier than I was told so I had to send it on and get the little ones up so that I could take Lexy to school. After calling the bus barn I found out that because of how many kids they have to pick up, Lexy will be picked up between 6:30am and 6:40am every morning and then sit on the bus for over an hour before being taken to school...I can't do that to her (or me, I would be worried out of my mind!). So I guess the only other alternative is for me to get everyone up each morning and take her...oh the life of a mom!!!
